We're alive!

Hello hello, we are alive! So sorry it has been a whole month since my last post. This has been what has been going on. Roman has been a super colicky baby, so he was not sleeping much and crying lots-fun for us. He also wanted to be held all the time, so not much time for blogging. He is on prevacid and that has helped but not 100% so I called the doc. after a month of that and we decided to switch him to soy formula (yes he is on formula so back off breastfeeding nazis) and he has been on it for a week and is a whole new baby. So things are starting to go back to normal around here.
Linus has done good with baby, he loves "baby woman" as he says and likes to help out. He has his moments but takes it out on us not baby but part of that is the "terrible twos."
So here are some fun photos to tickle your fancy.

The top photo is Roman today (7 wks.) in a cute outfit aunt Holly mailed us from AZ.

Here is Roman in his awesome soccer shirt, Dad likes to watch soccer so he wants his boys to play.

Roman in his first pair of running shoes, they are New Balance in honor of his late Grandpa Paul who was sponsored by New Balance in the 80's.

I wanted to get a cute picture of the boys but Linus was mad because he wanted to hold the baby.

So here he is holding him, and Roman is naturally freaked out.

Roman was screaming so Linus was trying to shush him by giving him his Binky.

Roman and Linus asleep on our bed. This lasted for like 5 minutes, this NEVER happens.

Linus liked Roman's buttons.

Roman at 2 weeks.

There you have it folks! Also I was wondering if anyone really reads my Movie Monday posts? Comment if you want me to keep them up.

Movie Monday-Cinema Paradiso

Here is another great foreign film introduced to me again by Colleen. This story is so sweet and genuine, I just LOVE love love the story and the relationships in the film. It goes to show that you can have a best friend who is any age.
PLOT: A boy who grew up in a native Sicilian Village returns home as a famous director after receiving news about the death of an old friend. Told in a flashback, Salvatore reminiscences about his childhood and his relationship with Alfredo, a projectionist at Cinema Paradiso. Under the fatherly influence of Alfredo, Salvatore fell in love with film making, with the duo spending many hours discussing about films and Alfredo painstakingly teaching Salvatore the skills that became a stepping stone for the young boy into the world of film making. The film brings the audience through the changes in cinema and the dying trade of traditional film making, editing and screening. It also explores a young boy's dream of leaving his little town to foray into the world outside.
STARS: 4 1/2 out of 5
RATING: PG-13?

Baby Roman!

Well we have survived the first week! Roman is now 1 week old! He is such a cutie and we are loving him more everyday!

Linus meeting Roman for the first time.
Linus has been so cute with the baby. He keeps saying,"Baby cute!" he seems to be pretty excited about his new baby brother so far. He likes to help change the baby. He has had his nose a bit out of joint on the attention issue but he seems to just get mad at us and not baby. Yesterday Linus was singing his ABC's for Roman and today I got him doing it on video, so check it out below.

Roman Scott Harker!!!

He is finally here! I was scheduled to have a c-section on Feb. 3, but Roman decided to make an earlier apperance while the doc. was out of town.
Roman was born by c-section from the super neat partner of my doc. who was out of town, Dr. Jones. He came on Jan. 30, 2009 at 2:00am weighing in at 7lbs. 8 oz. and was 18 inches long. It is funny how we manage to have short babies when daddy in 6' 7".
I feel like the c-section went much much better this time (minus the spinal block that took 4 pokes and 10 minutes to place). Dr. Jones was great and was much more gentile than the butcher I had last time.
We are currently still in the hospital but hope to be gone either tonight of tomorrow morning. Roman is doing great and mommy is recovering much beter than the last time. We are so excited to finally have our sweet new baby boy with us!

Don't mind me looking a bit nasty.

Movie Monday-House of Usher

This may be one of many movie Monday's that will be of an Edgar Allen Poe story starring Vincent Price. It was hard for me to pick which one I wanted to do since there are so many and they are all so great! Vincent Price is my all time favorite actor and I also adore E.A.P. so the two combined is always magnificent!
This is one of Poe's considered "greats" and it truly is. The story is full of mystery suspense and of coarse it has a great twist ending.
PLOT: After a long journey, Philip arrives at the Usher mansion seeking his loved one, Madeline. Upon arriving, however, he discovers that Madeline and her brother Roderick Usher have been afflicted with a mysterious malady: Roderick's senses have become painfully acute, while Madeline has become catatonic. That evening, Roderick tells his guest of an old Usher family curse: any time there has been more than one Usher child, all of the siblings have gone insane and died horrible deaths. As the days wear on, the effects of the curse reach their terrifying climax.
RATING: PG-13?
STARS: 5 out of 5.
Here are two shots of the amazing Vincent Price as Usher!

Dinosaurs!!!

Since baby is only 8 days away, we decided to take Linus out on a date to the dinosaur museum. He LOVED it! He was freaking out saying,"Sinosaurs sinosaurs!" We had a lot of fun and Linus was in aw of everything. After we went out and had ice cream.

Linus standing next to the dinosaur foot saying,"ooh." He was fascinated.

Danny and Linus by the "scary" t-rex.
Linus was scared of the sharks, he kept saying,"scary scary sharks."
Linus had a blast digging for bones, we could not get him out of there.
So this strange looking rock was in the digging area. Danny snapped a photo of it just for you folks! We were just thinking the person who made this rock was either really stupid and clueless or someone did it on purpose.
