New Posts!

Sorry I have been really bad about updated the blog. Our camera busted, so we did not have one for a bit. I also post most this stuff on facebook, which is like 100 times faster than blogger and most of you are on there too, so I feel like I am doing it twice. That makes blogging motivation go way down. Our life is all sorts a busy, so enjoy the 2 new posts below and I will try to be better with posting new stuff on here.

Linus adores Roman

Linus adores his little brother. Whenever Roman cries Linus says,"Lets make Roman happy." On this day when Roman was crying (and hungry) Linus wanted to feed him his bottle, so I said he could. Linus then insisted that he make the bottle, so I let him scoop the formula in. He shook the bottle and was very proud that he had made it himself! Then he went in and fed Roman his bottle, and while feeding him he was saying,"it's ok Roman." It was so cute, and Roman was just smiling the whole time. Linus actually fed him the whole bottle and when he was all done he was so excited and said,"I made Roman happy!" Then he had to call his dad to tell him. It was very sweet.
I am so grateful that Linus realizes other peoples needs before his own at such a young age!
Roman tackling Linus, well dad helping him.
This is Linus and his buddy Jake. Jake came to visit from out of state and Linus and him have so much fun together, after they warm up to each other a bit. We just love Jakie and his family and miss them tons!

Roman is 8 months

Roman is about to be 8 months now and he is HUGE! He is much bigger than Linus ever was at this age. He is wearing clothes that Linus wore when he was 2! I guess they are both two extremes though, Linus being small for his age and Roman HUGE! Roman loves his big brother and he loves his sweet potatoes! He is also wearing onesies and baby legs made by his mommy ( I am going to be opening an etsy shop soon so stay tuned for that)!

Provo Pediatric Dental reunion!

A few weeks ago I got to go see some of my old friends I used to work with (minus a few) when we worked for Dr. Markham and Dr. Lund. It was so much fun to see some old friends and catch up, and the best part was to see all out kids playing together! We all had some very funny and stressful moments working together, but I loved working with you guys! Thanks Anne for having us over! Here are the pics of our kids (thanks for the pics. Anne and Teresa!).
L to R First two are Heather's kids, then next Teresa's girl, then Anne's girl and boy, then Linus, and cutie in front is Teresa's.
Roman is obviously not pictured. We all have 2 kids, but Heather is going to have 3 soon!

Linus' tibute to MJ

I got this shirt for Linus when he was about 1. I am sad he is grown out of it :(... Oh but Roman will probably wear it in about 3 months.
Roman is wearing Linus' 12 month clothes (he is 6 months), I think he is going to be Linus' "big little brother."
* Ha ha "Hi Katie" you are in the background.

Linus Brown!

Everyone asks where we came up with Linus' name. Well we just liked it! Yes I first heard it on Charlie Brown, and Linus was always my favorite. He was my favorite because he had a blanky and so did I. So anyways, our little Linus also has a blanky and so we will rarely see him without it.
Above is his 2 year picture with his blanky. So really if his name was not Linus, I bet it would be his nick name.
The other day while at Target I saw this shirt below and I had to get it! So cute! Is that just not perfect? So we had his 3 year picture in it. He calls it his "Linus Brown shirt" ha ha.
Another cute pic. of sweet lil' Linus, just after he turned 3!

"Blow a Bubble Mommy"

Private or Not????

Should I keep this public or private???? I seems as though when I keep it private, no one reads it. So whats the point? However it is safer private, then again what are the odds... So what you guys think? Also should I bring Movie Monday back? Did anyone really read it?

More creative stuffs.

Above is Linus and Roman in their new double stroller! Linus is almost 3 and Roman is 5 months. They love the new stroller, and thank Aunt Holly for bringing it all the way from Arizona to us!

To thank her I made her this little diddy below. It is suppose to be a silhouette of her two kids Gavin and Natalia.
If you have ever wondered what Linus does when I am doing me crazy crafty things, he usually is doing some of his own, and Roman enjoys watching him. Shown below Linus was very proud of his tree and "tuip" a.k.a. "tulip."
I made this for Bella's birthday to hold all her bows and clips.
I got this at the DI for $5. Currently I have been in the market for 2 night stands for our bedroom. Right now we have weird (but cute) end tables with no drawers. I decided the did not have to match exact because I will paint them the same anyways. So this was the first one I found.
Here it is after. I want to put a little curtain there on the bottom where it is open. What do you think? Now I am off to hunt for another one for the other side. Then we are going to re-paint our room eventually.

DI/Garage Sale/ Creative goodness!

Most of you all know how I love to shop at DI and yard sales. I usually walk away with some sweet stuff, that others might think look like junk, but I usually make it my own. I also have a bad habit of telling others how much I paid for my goods. It is just a thrill to spend a dollar on something and then spend another dollar on paint to fix it up plus maybe a half hour than walla! Much better than spending hundreds at Tai Pan for the same thing.
Above is some super cute jars I got at DI and put some yummies in. They were 75 cents each.
Spice rack. DI $1.
DI Wooden thingy $3, made into a diaper caddy. Our house has 3 levels and we need diapers on all 3, so before they were just all over. My friend Katie spotted this one.
Yard Sale $3, this is actually a bread pan, but I made it into another diaper caddy with a bow.
This mirror is hard to see the detail but it is so pretty. DI $3, I painted it an antique white.
DI 75 cents. I spray painted the lid black (it was orange), my friend Katie (and my DI buddy) found this one for me. I needed a cute jar for my button collection. These buttons started out as my Grandma's Grandma's. I love them, I used to play with them as a kid and now Linus does!
More cute jars, DI 75 cents!
DI self $1.50 BEFORE.
AFTER
FREE!!!! I needed a chair for my sewing table (also a yard sale find) and my friend Katie gave me this one that she also got for FREE! Here is the BEFORE pic.
AFTER, I covered the chair. With the help of my friends Katie and Nancy!
DI bowl $1, BEFORE.
AFTER.

I have much more to come so I will take photos when they are all done and post them! Thanks to my friend Katie for giving my some new insights!

What we have been up to...

Hello hello! Sorry I have really been lacking on the blogging. Since I can't post all my back posts here are a bunch of random photos of what we have been up too.

Memorial Day, at grandpa Paul's grave.
Our good friend's we have made from around the corner have a cutie Linus' age. They were over at our house and Linus and Lila disappeared and we found them up on our bed and Linus has turned the TV on.
Linus loves watching cartoons with "Ja ja" and "Pa pa" on Pa pa's bed.
Linus and cousin Diana.
Sweetheart Roman, he is 4 and a half months old now and keeps me very busy. This is why I have not updated in forever.
Linus loves reading to Roman and Roman just laughs.
Linus, Lila, and Sophie playing in the pool.
Lila, Linus, and Sophie playing at Sophie's house.
Thanksgivingpoint farms.
Feeding the goats, Linus would only put my hand up to the goat but not his.
He loved the ducks.
Roman at his 4 month apt. Linus started to cry when he knew Roman was going to get shots, so we had Linus hold Roman's hand. He was so sweet with him and kept asking him if he was OK. Linus loves his brother.
Linus and Elijah playing at grandma's.
Linus and Roman in matching jammies.
Linus and Dad planting the garden. Linus is super excited watching the garden grow and can't wait for the pumpkins!

I can't RUN and I can't SLEEP!

OK so it is 2:00am and I can not sleep! Why you ask? well I took some Excedrin and it has caffeine in it so now I can't sleep. I took the Excedrin because my butt hurts.
I am sorry to be writing a post that is complaining but I am super frustrated and I just need to vent, so please feel free so skip if you want.
Ever since I got pregnant with Linus I have had problems with my sciatic nerve. It not only causes pain in my butt but the pain radiates up my back, in my hips and down my leg and wraps around my knee. This makes it hard for me to run, in fact it makes it impossible.
I ran a whole 2 miles on Saturday and have been in terrible pain just from the damn nerve. Ya a whole whopping 2 miles and I had to stop and stretch like 5 times. I am used to running a 6 miles at a time, but now I was lucky to get 2 in and even then I had to stop and walk because of the pain and it was only going to make it worse.
I had "Dr. Fix it" give me a cortisone shot and then he showed me all these special stretches and stuff but NOTHING is working. I am super frustrated and starting to feel like I will never run again. My mom even mentioned that ( I know super uplifting huh?).
This is really depressing to me because running has sort have been my identity since I was young. It was what defined me and my family, as well as what kept me bonded to my dad. Now I just feel like if I don't have that I lose a big part of me and who I am. What else defines me? I am not really good at anything else, nor do I enjoy anything else as much as I do running.
I want to be able to do it now more than ever too. I need that break from kids. I always love getting outside and just running in nature and listening to music, it is some of my most favorite memories.
I have all these friends, and friends in my ward starting to run and they are doing races and talking about doing marathons and I am so jealous because that is what I had hoped to be doing at this point in my life. I just don't know what else to do.
Anyways I am sorry to my a downer and write a sappy "poor me" post I am just super frustrated.

Movie Monday from Hell-This is Spinal Tap!

WARNING TO ALL!!!! DO NOT READ/WATCH IF YOU GET OFFENDED EASILY. DO NOT LET YOUR MOTHER READ/WATCH THIS, OR YOUR DOG, ESPECIALLY YOUR KID!!!!
So I have debated over posting this film ever since I started this whole movie Monday deal, but I have been fighting the urge every Monday and I just have to do it.
I do realize my mom reads this, my conservative brother and his wife, and my father in law so I hope you do not think of me differently after this.

OK back to the film. This is brought to you by Christopher Guest ( Best in Show, Waiting for Guffman) one of is earlier films coming out in 1984. Spinal Tab is a mocumentary of a rock bad named Spinal Tap. The reason this film is controversial here on my blog is because 1. it is rated R 2. It is R for good reasons and 3. You will laugh and then you might feel guilty for laughing. Anyways there is no nudity or sex scenes which is very good because that is a BIG NO NO in my book, however the problem is that the language is just down right filthy and I don't necessarily mean "F" bombs (although there are a couple) I just mean the band mates talk filthy and the lyrics are filthy, singing songs about "Big Bottoms" and what have you.
It is all meant to make fun of the 80's hair bands that really do sing dirty songs about that sort of thing in cryptic messages, but these guys just come out and say it. This is why it is so gosh darn funny and why I almost wet myself being very pregnant with Linus first seeing it.
So I highly recommend this one if you are going through a nervous breakdown for any reason, it is good medicine!
PLOT: In 1982 legendary British heavy metal band Spinal Tap attempt an American comeback tour accompanied by a fan who is also a film-maker. The resulting documentary, interspersed with powerful performances of Tap's pivotal music and profound lyrics, candidly follows a rock group heading towards crisis, culminating in the infamous affair of the eighteen-inch-high Stonehenge stage prop.
RATING: R like I said for good reason, the language.
STARS: 4 out of 5
ONE LINER: " But this one goes to eleven"
